46 Days

Reason #46: The Space Needle. I think this ought be a reason because it is, to my Canadian brain, Seattle's symbol (even more than coffee, the monorail, and Pike Place Market). The Space Needle came with this such intention and other lofty goals attached, too. According to the Space Needle: Discover the Needle website, at the time of the Space Needle's creation, Landmarks Preservation Board wrote, "The Space Needle marks a point in history of the City of Seattle and represents American aspirations towards technological prowess. [It] embodies in its form and construction the era's belief in commerce, technology and progress." While I may not associate all of the above with the Space Needle, it certainly screams Seattle to me. :)
