Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
I have been asked by my work to attend the biggest book industry tradeshow in North America!!!!! I get to go to Book Expo America!!!!!!! In New York City!!!! For more than a week!!! To talk about books!!!!! And represent my store!! And go to author dinners!!! And, and, and!!!
I'm pretty much on the most glowy, happy rush of awesome and have been since my manager asked me if I'd consider going.
I tried my damnedest not to jump up and down and SQUEEEEEE at the top of my lungs and barely (not really) managed to be professional and say thank you and yes and...
I'm soooooo excited!!
I've already started reading up on New York City. The last time I was there was only for those few fleeting hours when we randomly ended up in the Big Apple. I brought home books, maps, websites, advice and have already delved into my research.
New York City for this incredible book tradeshow...
And I'm going to be there. For a significant period of time. Doing what I LOVE!!!!
On top of getting to attend Book Expo... I get to extend my stay, have Gabe fly to New York, and spend a few days with him exploring the best of the city!!!
Our list of destinations is targeted.
Life goals (a Broadway show, Central Park, the Library, the Statue of Liberty, the Flower District, Museum of the City of New York, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, and FAO Schwartz) will be accomplished and summarily checked off the list with utmost glee in having those experiences.
We will (must, must, must) go to Sleep No More, which inspired Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus.
Oh, New York City. We're going to have so much fun together!!!
